The Weather Is Here... Wish you Were Beautiful

Posted by Picasa(You can click on the collage and make it larger if you would like.) This is the slogan for a bar in Port Aransas, and I thought is was hilarious. So anyway we spent our 5th Anniversary down on the Texas Coast in Rockport (really Rockport is on the bay). I will explain the pictures as best I can. We stayed in a great "Cape Cod" style hotel with a great fishing pier that Chad utilized a TON, and I caught some sun. We opened the 1989 Cab Sav we had been saving for a special occasion... and we drank the heck out of that (so good with 20 years on it). We drove into Corpus Cristi and toured the USS Lexington (they even had a room Chad was able to take a brake in) The fighter jet is the plane Senator John McCain was flying when he evacuated from and caused him to be held as a prisoner in Vietnam. We took the ferry boat across the bay to Port Aransas one day We had to wait a while to drive onto the ferry boat. We ended our trip with a sunset dolphin watching cruise (we did not see one dolphin). All in all we had a great weekend. Enjoy the pictures:-)

Playing House

Playing house was the name of the game last weekend. Thursday Casey dropped Brady off around lunch to spend 2 hours with his Aunt Jessica while she finished some work. The first picutre showes how precious Brady was to me. He slept, and ate, and slept some more. I will admit he did cry some. Oh, and I forgot- he peed... a lot! It was a fun afteroon, just the two of us.
Saturday evening Chad and I played house with Coleman. Katie and Donny decided they wanted a date night, so we obliged. Coleman was dropped of at 4:00pm and played with us until 8ish. Colman likes to jump and fly in the air, and if cries even one second either will make him stop (we figured this out quickly). Coleman is eating baby food now so I fed him some green beans... note picutre one. Please excuse the shirt after my afternoon with Brady I learned an old t-shirt is the best babysitting fashion!!! Coleman also loved watching Robin Hood with Chad (I think he liked the music).

The funny thing was that after his Mommy and Daddy came back to scoop him up we all fell back into who we always have been. Although, the 6 of us girls don't spend time together like we used to when we do get togther... the champagne and Shiner still flows strong and everything is like we have seen one another every day this week just with a little Coleman, or Brady, or Crawford (in T-minus 4 days) to share.

Emily's High School Graduation

Last weekend we celebrated the gradution of our second neice, Emily. Most people are shocked when they hear we have neices old enough to be graduating or graduated from high school, but we do. Emily's graduation was very special! The last year Chad and I have grown very close to Emily and I feel lucky enough to also call her my friend.
Friday night, after graduation, we stayed for awhile to help Chad's sister, Renee, and her husband, Clay, get 10 briskets ready to put on the cooker for the next day's bar-b-que. I would guess each of these brisket's weighed 10 pounds. It looked like we had portions of a dead body cut up in tin roasting pans at the dinner table. At midnight Chad and Clay made a run to Wal-Mart. It was not until the next day that we realized they must have looked fairly suspicious purchasing an axe, rubber gloves, and a case of Coors Light.
We are planning a trip to Rockport, on the Texas coast for next week to celebrate our 5th Anniversary. Guess that will be our next post!
